Our Saviour Lutheran Church Worship Time Change

Effective Sunday, July 5, 2020 Our Saviour Lutheran Church will return to one worship service commencing at 10 a.m.

Divine Worship on Sunday, July 19, 2020 will include communion.

Social distancing and other Covid mitigation guidelines will continue to be practiced until further notice.

Worship Guidelines for Our Saviour Lutheran Church effective June 14, 2020

The Government of Saskatchewan has recently issued new guidelines for attendance at worship services. In order to be compliant we must follow certain guidelines.

  1. We must enter and exit through different doorways. The entrance will be the main doors to the hall and the exit will be the doors at the back of the Sanctuary.
  2. We must at all times maintain social distancing, no hand shaking or visiting on the way in or out.
  3. We are allowed 30% of our building capacity which in our case works out to 45 persons.
  4. There will be someone at the door to complete a head count.
  5. Hymnals and bulletins are available at the entrance. Please return the hymnal to the last pew on your left as you exit the building. This allows for disinfection of the hymnals for the next service.
  6. There will be a collection plate at the back of the Church on a small table, please leave your offering as you exit.
  7. As you enter the Sanctuary, stay on the carpeted area. Do not enter the pews between the walls and the pew.
  8. Every second pew has been blocked off (Red Ribbon). Family groups and residents of the same household can sit together. Please maintain social distance between family groups and do not sit directly in front of or behind someone else.
  9. If you attend the 9:30 or 11:00am service, this will remain your service time until things return to normal and we are back to one service per Sunday.
  10. There will be no communion, music will be provided for the hymns, but please refrain from singing.
  11. Please refrain from using the washrooms.

Worship at Our Saviour Lutheran Church Scheduled to Resume Sunday, June 14, 2020 with Two Services

The congregation of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Fort Qu’Appelle, SK, is pleased to announce the resumption of worship services at the church effective Sunday, June 14, 2020. This resumption is part of the Phase 3 Saskatchewan Reopening Plan and we couldn’t be happier to be able to return to worship.  

There will be two worship services on June 14 to accommodate the limitation of 30 people in order to ensure social distancing is maintained. Services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Some things will be different for worshipers in effort to prevent and control the potential of Covid19 infections within the congregation and the local community. We view prevention and control as the best options available to us so we may continue to gather for and enjoy fellowship, hear the Word and serve our Lord.

Effective June 14, 2020 the following practices will govern worship, evangelism and fellowship activities at Our Saviour Lutheran Church:

Gathering For and Leaving Service: Do not shake hands or hug. Use the hand sanitizer available at the door. Bring a box of tissues to leave on the pew for your use. If you are sick, please stay home until you are well.

Hymnals and Bulletins: Hymnals and bulletins will be available at the door for pick up and drop off. Hymnals will be wiped down with anti-bacterial wipes between services.

Seating: Every other pew will be blocked off to maintain 2 metre (6 feet) distancing. Do not sit directly in front of or behind someone.

Communion: There will be no communion.

Collection Plate: The collection plate will be at the exit.

Fellowship Meals Are Cancelled until Further Notice: The monthly breakfast potluck scheduled after Divine Service on the third Sunday of the month after Divine Service is still cancelled until further notice. The Monthly Men’s Breakfast regularly scheduled for the last Saturday of each month is cancelled until further notice.

Annual Fall Rummage Sale Cancelled: The annual fall rummage sale has been cancelled for 2020. If you dropped anything off at the church or the garage for the sale please arrange to pick it up as soon as possible.

A special thank you to Pastor Rosnau for the service, Ruth Erickson for playing the keyboard in the wind, Sheila Casper for leading us in the hymns, and our special guest Gail Breti for the beautiful song she sang for us! Thank you Dennis Regel for the technology to make it all possible!
